HIS MOTHER WAS A WOMAN
FOR TRULY HE IS THE SON OF GARD
Lo, it will soon come to pass that a further instance of tune-smithery will be arriving in the Radiant Future despatch bay. When not planning to subvert democracy and destroy our way of life, our saintly (but foreign) employees are literally girding their loins in anticipation of the tsunami of impending orders.
JUMBLE
On September 17th 2025, Martin Gordon’s latest song cycle ‘His Mother Was a Woman’ will be released, it being a riotous musical romp through some of the most significant semantic jumble of the Twenty-Twenties, thanks in no small measure to the Insane Philosopher-King referred to in the album title.
SEGUE HEIL
Given the massive pressures on our time (not to mention our money, patience and sanity), each of the 24 tracks says what it has to say and then, in a series of elaborately constructed segues, makes way for the next. For that reason, ‘His Mother’ can either be listened to as one continuous piece of aural icing sitting atop the delicious disaster-flavoured cake on which we are eagerly snacking, or it can be broken down into bite-size snippets for later consumption, allowing you to get on with watching AI-generated interviews with dead people.
NESTING VULTURES

Who was His Mother? She was a stern matriarch with a towering beehive hairdo, from which nesting vultures peered out and scoured the horizons for likely prey, who were usually people with more money than sense, eager to ascend the slippery rungs of the social ladder and with an overwhelming love of all things gold. Her offspring was similarly infected with a pervasive affection for free money. Having nailed His colours to the matriarchal mast, He proceeded to dismantle western civilisation (if one can use such a term) and began to spray His incomprehensible word salad over all who happened to be within spitting distance.
IMPREGNATED
In this gala production of His Work and Wise Words, we cleave strongly to the highest music-hall production values – only the finest maroon velour curtains are used, tied back by the most gleaming, gold-impregnated (but not literally) ropes used anywhere by anyone ever in the history of the world or anywhere else. Greek choruses, all armed with valid work permits, repeat His selected Words of Wisdom to ensure that His subjects receive maximum value from their investments if (a) it’s a Tuesday and (b) there’s an M in the month.
CHILLING OUT
During this evening’s performance, heavily-armed members of the Matriarchal Thought Police will roam the aisles on the lookout for anyone who may disrupt the entertainment, primed to eject them at the first sign of dissent whether actual or potential, and regardless of their professed affection for Gilbert and/or Sullivan.
RELEASE INFO
A limited number of the ‘His Mother Was a Woman’ CD will be available from Radiant Future. All copies come in a lavish six-panel heavy cardboard package and all direct orders will include one (count them!) double-sided full colour lyric sheet and one (we are up to two so far) lavish full-colour sticker featuring the album artwork and some hidden messages if you don’t look at it directly but only out of the corner of your eye and are especially credulous. That’s three things all told, or 27 including all the tracks.

The musical form is strictly determined by the transcript of a recent Insane Philosopher-King interview, in which he surpassed his own, hard-to-compete-with benchmark. No editing of the selections was allowed. The process was detailed, for those who care about such things, at the xCOAx conference at Abertay University, Dundee, in 2025, and was published in the proceedings. Dundee, of course, is in Scotland. Did you know? His Mother was born in Scotland.
HIS MOTHER’S AVAILABILITY
The CD will also be available via the usual on-line retailers. However, the accompanying freebies will be limited to the direct orders, for reasons of practicality, pecuniary necessity and the fact that the vast majority of the great music-loving public are terribly busy with other, more important things.
Downloads will be available via all those people who make such things available to download, well-known to most. As for streaming – well, what is there to say? It will be streamable.
Watch for videos over the upcoming weeks.
